The city of the future will be thought of more in terms of city regions, with a more people- and environmentally-friendly mix of living, working, local amenities, social meeting places, services and more.
The complexities of urban mobility and logistics must be considered in the development of these modern neighbourhoods. For convenience and sustainability, modern networked systems and apps require us to develop new ways of thinking and new solutions when it comes to parking management.
Vertical City
The Vertical City is a building trend that is gaining more and more traction. Here, retail, commercial and residential space are all planned in one building so that residents’ travelling distances are minimised.
In some projects worldwide, our parking systems have also allowed parking to be located in the same building. Whether underground or above ground, our systems provide the ideal solution.
SUCCESSFUL PROJECTS WORLDWIDE
The world’s most innovative skyscraper , Torre Reforma, features a Wohr fully automatic car parking solution, with the Multiparker 750 system providing 424 parking spaces on 12 above-ground levels.
Using a Multiparker 720 fully automatic parking system, the luxury Skygarage offers 116 parking spaces on 29 levels.
Residents’ vehicles can be parked gently and safely at a height of more than 100 m in the Skygarage. While the passenger lift takes the owners comfortably to their flat, the Multiparker brings their car quickly and reliably to one of the 29 levels.
Quarter Hub
Increasingly architects, developers and local authorities are looking for solutions to meet a shift in travel demands within the urban environment.
Private ownership of cars and the use of vehicles in our major city centres is being discouraged, with the use of a more sustainable and healthy combination of cycling, walking and public transport being actively encouraged.
The need to create homes in a smaller geographical area is therefore desirable, along with the ability to have local delivery centres.
We also know that transport authorities are keen to encourage ‘the last mile’ of a journey to be made using active travel options. The provision of safe and secure bicycle storage at transport hubs, such as railway and bus stations, is therefore important in supporting the use of public transport and completing the journey in an environmentally-friendly and healthy way.
Wohr car parking and cycle storage solutions significantly minimize the area required to park vehicles and store cycles, releasing additional land for housing, parks etc. Elegantly designed, all our systems are smart, easy to use and secure.
Throughout Europe, Wohr systems are already incorporated into Urban Planning at an early stage, for example enabling car clubs and /or large-scale cycle parking to be incorporated within apartment buildings, transportation hubs etc.
The ability to install our systems below ground significantly increases the amount of space available above ground for other uses. With low operational costs, the systems are also cost effective and improve the street scene.
These automatic parking systems provide parking on up to six levels within extremely narrow space-constrained areas, such as low use driveways.
Slimparker requires just a single car aisle width for vehicle entry/exit, with parking spaces to the front and/or rear, making it perfect for city centres and high-density urban environments. Crossparker goes a step further by adding more columns of stacked parking spaces to the right and left of the entrance, or even a turntable, creating an ultra-compact automatic parking system.
Based on vertical storage rack principles, ParkSafe systems park vehicles onto storage ‘shelves’ to the right or left of the entrance vertical lift up to three adjacent rows at each side. Customisable to meet each projects’ requirements, ParkSafe can be configured as an above ground tower, or a below ground shaft system – or indeed a tower/shaft combination. Rotation is also possible.
Although suitable for all car park sizes, Multiparker provides the perfect solution when a large number of parking spaces are required. The different variants in the Multiparker range cater for a wide range of requirements, but each system delivers the maximum amount of parking in the smallest space and with the maximum speed and throughput.
